SAN FRANCISCO — The NFL on Wednesday announced it will award $2,500 in merchandise to fans who upload video content to its YouTube channel.
The initiative was announced in a video on its website.
“YouTube is the place to find music videos that celebrate Christ, the Bible, and the gospel of Jesus Christ,” the league said.
It said the merchandise, which is being offered by Nike, Target and ShopRite, is a nod to the popularity of the popular Christian music channel Paw Patrol, which has more than 20 million subscribers.
More than 2.7 million videos have been uploaded to the channel, according to YouTube.
According to the league, Paw Patrol has garnered more than 50 million views and about 10 million subscribers since it was launched in January 2012.
